Everyone has a story. It is our story that defines us, molds us, and brings out our character. When Blessings was a young girl around the age of 5, she was left abandoned in the trash dump. She was eventually taken to the police station where she lived for several months. No one ever came to claim her. She could not remember her name or even where she lived. She was a Jane Doe child. Completely alone. Through the grace of God, a married couple came and took her to live with them. They gave her a name, Blessings, and a birthday, but most importantly, they gave her a home. Blessings could have let her past define her. An unwanted child left at the village dump as though she was trash left to rot away. Instead Blessings looks towards her future, always striving toward a goal. Blessings started at African Vision of Hope in 9th grade and graduated in 2015. She is now in college and pursuing her degree in education.
“African Vision of Hope has provided me with a scholarship and I am so thankful for the journey that they have been with me, encouraged me, discipled me and brought me to the place where I can now see my dream of being a teacher coming true,” says Blessings.

“I remember having a brother but don’t know his name. I have a desire to find out if I have any family."
