Sofia manages to care and provide for her family while not missing a day of class and maintaining high marks in school. One might think this sounds incredibly difficult, but her journey to this point has been even more challenging.

Sofia’s focus and determination are clear in how she has handled each challenge that has come her way. She has escaped being sold into marriage at 15, survived consistent physical abuse, pushed through when her books and uniform were hidden from her by a parent and has yet to miss a single day of class.

When school resumes in the coming weeks, Sofia will start her grade 11 year. She receives encouragement from her sponsor and love and support from her teachers. African Vision of Hope Child Protection Officers are monitoring Sofia’s situation regularly and providing guidance, support and food for her during this time.

You are a shield encircling them each day. Help her to feel your love and the love from people all around the world who are praying for her, and let it to be an encouragement to her. We pray she will be established firmly in Christ Jesus. We pray God’s light will guide her in all she does and grant her peace. Amen.”
