On July 10th 2022, seven schools in Chongwe District participated in the singing contest under the National Arts Schools Association of Zambia.

The contest takes place annually and the event was held at Chongwe Secondary School. The schools which participated in the contest were: AVOH Chongwe, Palabana Secondary, Silverest School, Chongwe Secondary, Margaret Girls Secondary, Mukamambo Secondary, Kapete Secondary and Chongwe Primary School.

AVOH Chongwe school emerged winners of the singing contest and will represent Chongwe District at another contest in Luangwa District in August, 2022. The winners at this stage will contest at provincial level and finally the winners will have to contest at national level.
